Business Ownership is about being aware
Be ready for abrupt change.

The most sobering thing about starting a new business is realizing that most of what you THINK you know, is wrong. The most basic and useful advice I can give to anyone trying to go out on their own and start something for themselves, is to:
1) Be ready for tough times
2) Have a basic plan, but be absolutely mindful that you’ll need to pivot.
When we started BroBasket, we had the idea that we would be the ‘edible arrangements of gifts for men’; we would hand deliver everything and state by state open locations across the United States. What we soon learned was that BroBasket was something different. We didn’t change our business model, our customers did. Our customers showed us that beyond anything, we were an ecommerce business. Once we learned and accepted that, we began to flourish tremendously because we no longer wasted efforts doing local strategies.
When you start your own business, listen to your customer; be open to alternative business models. The market tells you who you are, and what it wants from you. If you try to force your interpretation onto the market, you will most likely be rejected.
